Grey's Anatomy is currently on a break and will return for the second half of its 13th season next year. During the show's quick hiatus, fans were quick to express what they feel about Meredith Grey.

Throughout 13 seasons of the show, fans have seen all the drama possible. From planes crashing, getting hit by a truck, to getting electrocuted, there's no shortage of tragedies on Shonda Rhimes' hit series.

While Grey's Anatomy remains to be the number one drama series on television despite being on air for more than a decade, fans are rumored to be getting tired of Meredith Grey. Ellen Pompeo's character is the center of the show.

The protagonist narrates the episodes, and every event in Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital seems to be connected with the Chief of General Surgery. Indeed, Dr. Meredith Grey has been the focal point of almost every episode throughout the show's 13-year run.

With the show going on for more than a decade, fans have seen almost every possible arc on Grey's character. With this in mind, fans are concerned that Pompeo's character no longer has an edge.

Some of the show's fans have expressed their concerns regarding Meredith Grey's continuous storyline. Some Reddit users have pointed out that Grey's storyline has already been used and used time and time again - it has reached its peak and has now come down.

Thus, the character's story presents no further development anymore. This is not beneficial to the show, as it would not make sense if the protagonist has no story to tell.

Fans are left to wonder whether the show's writers could still come up with fresh stories for Ellen Pompeo's character, or if this is the end for the show. With that said, as long as fans are still watching and Grey's Anatomy is still the number 1 drama series on television, it is highly possible the show will go on.

Ellen Pompeo has voiced out that she has no plans of hanging up the scrub suits anytime soon, Hollywood Reporter reports. However, it is still unconfirmed whether the show has been renewed for another season.
