There's still a few weeks to go before "Grey's Anatomy" returns on television. With that, fans of the drama series are still hanging on a cliff, waiting for what's going to happen next.

In a previous article, News Everyday discussed the possibility of Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) going to jail for a couple of years. Now, this could potentially ruin his name and his career.

Karev's heroic sacrifice to keep Jo (Camilla Luddington) safe from her abusive husband is just one of the many reasons why fans adore Chambers' character so much. In fact, the only person who was not impressed with Karev's decision was none other than Meredith Grey herself (Ellen Pompeo).

For a while now, fans have been waiting for a Meredith and Alex love story to happen. Despite everything that's been happening between Jo and Alex, fans just won't let go of their hopes that someday, Alex, and Meredith might get together - finally.

After that nail-biting "Grey's Anatomy" winter finale last November 17, Meredith and Alex shippers are given more hope. Meredith is doing everything just to stop Alex from taking the plea bargain. She wasn't going to let him go without a fight.

In one scene, Alex even assured Meredith that she would be fine without him. To which she responded, "Stop making this about me. Of course, I'll be fine, I'm always fine - don't you know that?"

The Grey Sloan's head of general surgery even added "This is about you. You'll be destroyed." Awe, if that doesn't speak volumes about how they feel for each other, then nothing does. Eventually, Alex uttered his final goodbye and walked away.

Millions of hearts can practically be heard breaking all over the world. This left fans hoping Meredith can come up with a plan just in time to save her (hopefully) soon-to-be-man.
