Previous season ended with some very tense scenes which is fans are eagerly waiting for the show's fifth season anxiously. Rumors say that will be the show creator, Beau Willimon's, last season after he quits the series.

In a recent interview, Willimon said that he will now concentrate on other projects. His replacement on the show will be Melissa James Gibson and Frank Pugliese.

"I'm grateful to Netflix and MRC, my fellow executive producers, our two incandescent stars Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, our talented writers, as well as the incredible cast and crew with whom I've had the privilege to work," he said.

After five years and four seasons, it's time for me to move on to new endeavors, but I'm supremely proud of what we've built together, wish the show much continued success, and leave it in the hands of a very capable team."

However, the show's renewal is a sign that a new season is underway, followed by a rumor that Claire may be the next President as she wins the election against her husband, even though she looks fairly content being a vice-president. She is also expected to use the same political strategies that her husband used to secure his victory.

Another rumor doing the rounds is that Frank may die. Speculated by a Reddit user, Sanditreet, he believes that the next season will lead to the president's funeral. Another theory is that Frank will likely resign from his post or will be impeached that will give Claire his position as a president.

As far as the relationship between the two, Frank and Claire, is concerned, the two are believed to be stronger than before.

Netflix has not announced the fifth season air date on Netflix yet.
