Pastor Shoots the Hammer-Wielding Church Invader in Detroit

A pastor of a storefront church located in Detroit shot a man who attacked him during a service with a brick on Sunday. The shooting happened soon after the service began at 1.45 PM in a church called City of God. As per WXYZ, the 25-year-old was threatening to hurt the pastor with a brick. Assistant Detroit Police Chief, Steve Dolunt, said The pastor had had issues with the man before," , reports Detroit News. "He had been threatening to do him bodily harm. He walked into the service and went after the pastor with a brick. The pastor pulled out his Glock and fired several shots. I think he hit him four or five times, and the man died."

According to Casandra Lewis, Detroit Police Sergeant, it is yet to be established if the man had mental problems. The matter is currently being investigated, reported WWJ. During this entire episode, no one was hurt. The pastor has been taken in for questioning by the police, according to FOX2.

US News reported that Detroit police has released the pastor of storefront church after questioning him for shooting and killing the man who tried to harm during prayer service. The suspect who was shot by the pastor had reportedly sought help from the minister in the past. He was shot multiple times by the pastor's glock, which is prohibited in Michigan churches. The incident happened around 1.30 PM. The attacker was prounced dead when he was brought to the hospital. The police officer in charge of the investigation said that the two had had problems in the past that the attacker was threatening the pastor with a brick when he took his pistol and shot him multiple times.
