Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez might not be dating anymore but their relationship status is not stopping them from using each other.

According to HollywoodLife.com, Bieber and Gomez's duet, "Strong," was not accidentally leaked, like the singers wanted fans to believe. Instead, the website is reporting that the song was dropped strategically to promote both of their albums.

"They were all well aware at the time of recording that if they did do a duet, chances are it would be picked up in some way or another," an insider said. "They also knew they were both going to be releasing albums in 2015, so a duet with each other would help them get more exposure if it was leaked at around the time of both of their releases."

"Strong," a romantic duet, was leaked Oct. 17 on Drake's OVO Sound Radio. Gomez' album, "Revival," was released on Oct. 9 and Bieber's album, "Purpose," will be coming out on Nov. 13.

The source added, "If they can piggyback off each other for more publicity, they're happy to do it."

Bieber and Gomez have talked about their breakup this past year.

Gomez said in V magazine back in February, "I was 18 years old, and it was my first love...it was really weird but it was incredible. I would never take it back in a million years."

Bieber shared his take on their relationship last month with Vanity Fair.

"It was a marriage kind of thing. Living with a girl, it was just too much at that age," Bieber said. "But we were so in love. Nothing else mattered."

Both artists are not in serious relationships at the moment and appear to be focused on their careers.
