Zayn Malik may be leaving One Direction physically last month but according to the renowned British physicist, Stephen Hawking, the former 1D member might still be with his bandmates in another universe.

In a hologram appearance, Hawking appeared in the midst of Australian audience eager to listen to his talks over the weekend and pacified millions of Malik's fans all over the world by giving a 'multiverse' explanation on the phenomenon, The Verge reports

In one of the questions, Hawkings is asked by his physicist friend Paul Davies about Malik's decision.

"What do you think is the cosmological effect of Zayn leaving One Direction and consequently breaking the hearts of millions of teenage girls across the world" Davies asked.

"My advice to any heartbroken young girl is to pay close attention to the study of theoretical physics because one day there may be proof of multiple universes," Hawking said jovially.

"It would not then be beyond the realms of possibility that somewhere outside of our own universe lies another different universe and in that universe Zayn is still in One Direction," he continued.

Davies is joined by Hawking' daughter, science communicator, Lucy Hawking on stage as they facilitate Hawking's discussion about his famous book A Brief History of Time and his opinion about the recent success of the biopic Theory of Everything, Sydney Morning Herald said.

When asked whether the universe is designed by a creator or God, the physicist gave a "No."

Later on, he added jokingly saying what God could have been doing before creating the universe.

"Was he building Hell for people who ask such questions?"

As to his character in the Academy award-winning movie, the scientist said that the depiction of Eddie Redmayne towards his character is close to being authentic, The Guardian said.

It was surprisingly honest about our marriage. It was as close as I'll ever get to travelling back in time." Hawking said.
