"Mad Men" star Jon Hamm is being accused of violet fraternity hazing, several media outlets reported.

According to the reports, a 1991 lawsuit that was obtained by the Associated Press has surfaced. In the lawsuit, Hamm, 44, participated in hazing activities during his time as a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity at the University of Texas - Austin.

The report stated that one of the incidents reportedly involved setting a pledge member on fire. Hamm allegedly got very "mad" when a pledge, identified as Mark Allen Sanders, could not recite certain facts correctly. As a part of hazing, pledges are supposed to memorize certain facts and recite them to the tee. Since Sanders could not do so, the suit claimed that Hamm hit him and then proceeded to shove his face into the dirt.

"He rears back and hits me left-handed, and he hit me right over my right kidney, I mean square over it," Sanders said in the lawsuit. "Good solid hit and that, that stood me right up."

Sanders also claimed that Hamm set his pants on fire and beat him with a paddle and a broom. On top of that, Sanders said that he was forced to walk around the house with a "claw of a hammer beneath his genitals." The incident occurred in November 1990.

In 1993, Hamm and other members of the fraternity were arrested and charged with hazing. They received probation. Hamm ended up dropping out of school during that semester, a decision he said he made because of his father's death in 1991.

Hamm recently completed rehab in March. He had checked himself in for alcohol addition. Hamm's reps have not commented on this latest story.
