Apple might release an 8K iMac with a super-high resolution this year, according to a press release by LG Display. The press release first spotted by Apple Insider, mentioning the iMac 8K has been taken down since then.

According to the press release, "Apple has also announced that they will release the 'iMac 8K' with a super-high resolution display later this year." The press release focused on the future of 8K which has 7,680 x 4,320 pixel resolution - four times the resolution of a 4K screen.

LG mentioned in the press release that it would demonstrate the service at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in Korea and at Apple.

However, no such announcement has been made by Apple. Recently, the company launched its 27-inch iMac with a 5K display in October, so it seems unlikely that the company would upgrade to a newer display so soon.

According to Mashable, the new iMac is rumored to debut this fall.
