"Game of Thrones" Season 7 is set to return this year and has added Ed Sheeran in the list of guests in the series. The eight season of the show will also be the last one with only six episodes. In the meantime, there are talks of a spin-off for the series.

According to a report, the "Game of Thrones" cast and crew were at the SXSW event. There were several hints about the series that were tackled during the event. The showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss together with Sophie Turner who plays Sansha Stark and Maisie Williams who portrays the role of Arya Stark were at a panel in the event. They talked more about the series.

It is hinted that there will be a promo teaser that will be revealed soon for "Game of Thrones" Season 7. The eighth season has been tackled during the panel and it was confirmed to have six episodes. The eighth season is also the final one for the series.

Additionally, it was hinted that the final season for "Game of Thrones" will be written by Dave Hill and Bryan Cogman. Weiss and Benioff will still be involved to handle the last four seasons of the series. There was also a discussion regarding a spin-off that Weiss and Benioff will not be involved.

In the meantime, Ed Sheeran has been confirmed to guest in an episode of "Game of Thrones" Season 7. Benioff shared that the production tried to get Sheeran in the set. This has been a surprise for Sheeran's fan Maisie Williams. The surprise ended with Sheeran filming a part in the show.

Meanwhile, it already is hinted that Game of Thrones Season 7 will have more episodes than the finale season. In fact, the season will have seven episodes while the next will only have six. The show has prepared an epic ending for the series.

"Game of Thrones" Season 7 is set to air on July 16, 2017.
