Sam Esmail, creator of the USA hit series Mr. Robot, has got it going with his success on television. Not only is he busy with third season of the show, he is also eyeing two new projects, including an adaptation of podcast starring Oscar Isaac, with Universal Cable Productions and Anonymous Content.

Homecoming, a podcast starring Oscar Isaac, Catherine Keener, and David Schwimmer, is set to be adapted by Esmail. Universal Cable Productions and Anonymous Content just sealed the deal this week.

Homecoming, the podcast is about staffers of a secret government agency where they rejoin civilian life after they became desperate about it. It was launched November 16 as a weekly series at the Gimlet Media podcast.

The adaptation of Homecoming on the small screen is expected to be developed and will be packaged with a star-studded cast before they start the production. However, Esmail is expected to do little on the Homecoming series, with his only huge contribution is directing the pilot.

He is also preparing a TV series of the classic 1927 sci-fi silent film Metropolis by Fritz Lang. Currently, Universal Cable Productions have the rights of the film. The movie is considered as a landmark for the cinema for its ambitious storytelling and visuals on tis time.

Metropolis is a story is about a divided dystopian city in the future where cultural focus is above ground and there are slaves who are in inhumane status. A man who is privileged in his life discovers the disparaty and becomes determined to help to those who are in need.

According to Variety, Esmail plans to show Metropolis like the same approach he had with Mr. Robot. Although he is already attached, fans won't be able to see this product in two years because Esmail is expected that he would not run both projects at the same time. However, there are already a group of small writers who are tasked with Metropolis. The third season of Mr. Robot is expected to be released next year.
