Twitch, the leading social media video game platform, is bringing a gaming event to the Whitehouse for a cause. The popular online gaming platform Twitch is set to hold the "White House Competitive Gaming Event" in the Whitehouse. The purpose of the gaming event is to raise awareness for the importance of health insurance.

The event is happening before the December 15 deadline of the January 1st coverage on the Health Insurance Marketplace. The list of gaming celebrities set to participate in this gaming event include ActaBunniFooFoo, Annemunition, bijoudemi, darkness_429, Elspeth, imcoty, LifeWithLau, ghs, Okaydrian and thatchickparker. The event will last a full four hours and the famous Twitch gamers will stream as well as talk about health insurance awareness. The event will be live streamed on Twitch on December 12 starting 4pm ET.

This was never heard before as this event marks the first ever esports gaming marathon to be held in the Whitehouse, and for a good cause to boot. A few of the games to be streamed during this event include a "Rocket League Pro-Am" showmatch as well as a "Street Fighter V" showmatch.

According to an article by Business Wire, Brian Petrocelli, the Product Marketing Manager of Twitch, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity of a collaboration between Twitch and the White House in raising awareness for a cause like the importance of health insurance in the country.

Petrocelli explained how this connects health care awareness to the younger generation, with the famous Twitch gaming celebrities showing their enthusiasm about the advocacy both in gaming and in support of the advocacy itself. The event is set to be hosted by Twitch programming manager and streamer Anna Prosser Robinson.
