"How To Train Your Dragon 3" was supposed to be pushed through in May of 2018. However, with Dreamworks Animation experiencing some financial misfortunes, this has caused for some movies to be delayed, or worst canceled.

Aside from "How To Train Your Dragon 3," other films like 'Monkeys of Mumbai', 'B.O.O.: Bureau of Otherworldly Operatives' and 'Me and My Shadow' were all presumably canceled. Is the new sequel of "How To Train Your Dragon" in trouble?

DreamWorks, in partnership with Universal Pictures has decided to postpone again the latest sequel of 'How to Train Your Dragon' franchise for another year and will now premiere on March 1, 2019. They have saved and purposely delayed the release of the movie, since it is also one of the most lucrative franchise, in order also for it to be a trilogy success as well as give it some room to be made flawlessly.

Though there were some rumors about a fourth sequel,  'How To Train Your Dragon 3' is most likely to be considered as end of the film series. With the three big animation giants DreamWorks, Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment working together, it is just safe to say that since the hit-making films such as Despicable Me and Secret Life of Pets was released, it is a unanimous decision for the the three not to overcrowd the market with their own films, reports from Cinemablend.

As Dean DeBlois is going to direct the film again, he has also decided to put back the original voice cast, and in-line with this, according to Cartoonbrew, here is the logline for the upcoming movie:

"As Hiccup fulfills his dream of creating a peaceful dragon utopia, Toothless' discovery of an untamed, elusive mate draws the Night Fury away. When danger mounts at home and Hiccup's reign as village chief is tested, both dragon and rider must make impossible decisions to save their kind."

Despite its delay, the positive note is that most of its cast from the original film will return in "How To Train Your Dragon 3." The stars confirmed to return are Jay Baruchel, America Ferrara, Jonah Hill, Cate Blanchett and Kristen Wiig.
