HTC Has Begun Updating HTC One M9 To Latest Version Of Android

HTC One M9 is the predecessor of HTC 10 and the company is ready with Android update for this handset. Tech Times reports that HTC has confirmed on Twitter that the 5-inch smartphone with the unlocked variant will be updated to Android 7.0 instead of Android 7.1. In fact, the process has begun on Tuesday, Dec 6. It would be an over the air update for the US variant of the Handset.

Users Can Check For The Update

To manually check whether the unlocked HTC One M9 has received an OTA update simply navigate to the settings. Then move on to about devices. Next step is to look for software updates and finally, check for the updates.

Carrier Versions OF HTC 10 And HTC One M9 Might Have To Weight For Some Time

US owners of the unlocked version of HTC One M9 have started receiving the Android 7.0 update. HTC has announced that it would be in 2017 that the carrier versions of these Smartphones will be updated to Android 7.0, Phone Arena reports.

In August this year, HTC made it clear that HTC One M9, HTC 10, and HTC One A9 will receive an Android 7.0 Nougat update. Hence these Smartphones would be put in the same league as Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X.

The Android update will have a support for bundled alerts, multi-window options, and enhanced security. As the updates are pushed in phases it might take few days for the US customers to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update on HTC One M9. The Customers need to be a little patient.
