"Prison Break" Season 5 will see a new character who will play an important role in the lives of the main players of the show. In a recent Q&A with @PBWritersRoom on Twitter, the writer confirmed that the new addition to "Prison Break" cast will be an LGBT personality. Additionally, the upcoming season may not be the last as @PBWritersRoom revealed that the audience and FOX network hold the possibility of a sixth season.

"Prison Break" Season 5 will see an LGBT character named Sid who will be portrayed by actor Kunal Sharma, Digital Spy reported. Though @PBWritersRoom did not elaborate on the significance of his part, it was confirmed that he is gay. The news was revealed when a Twitter fan asked whether there will be an LGBT relationship on "Prison Break" Season 5.

The writer behind @PBWritersRoom answered the fan with, "There is a new LGBT character named Sid. He's got an important role to play." However, @PBWritersRoom did not confirm if Sid will have a relationship with one of the show's main players. LGBT relationships in TV shows are the trend now and it is not surprising if "Prison Break" Season 5 will also have one in it.

Meanwhile, another fan asked @PBWritersRoom if "Prison Break" Season 5 will be the show's last. Interestingly, @PBWritersRoom said that they do hope it is not the last season of the show. The writer also implied that a new season may be possible depending on how the audience receives the great story that they tried to deliver.

Moreover, FOX network will also be the one to decide on how the "Prison Break" franchise should continue. Speaking of the network, "Prison Break" Season 5 air date is not confirmed yet as FOX has not decided on the scheduling of their shows according to @PBWritersRoom. However, it has been previously announced that the new season will arrive in Spring 2017.

"Prison Break" Season 5 is suggested to see the comeback of Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) while his brother Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) will help him escape prison in Yemen.
