In 2011, the next installment grossed a total of $562.1 million in the box-office worldwide. "Cars 2" has been the first Pixar film not nominated in the Academy Awards.

In a report from Empire, Lightning McQueen is older and a veteran in the racing field. "Cars 3" has him challenged by a younger and new racer, Jackson Storm. This is quite a challenging time for McQueen and may need the aide of technician, Cruz Ramirez.
