The developer of "Angry Birds", Rovio Animation has launched a new "ToonsTv" app for selected Samsung smartphones. Originally, in 2013 ToonsTv started its broadcast through mobile applications in Android and iOS platforms, which served family-friendly content for its viewers that includes Angry Birds TV shows and other third party contents like National Geographic, NASA shows etc. The app in the Google Play has more than 5 million downloads, show its popularity and reach.

The latest ToonsTv app is exclusively for selected Samsung smartphones and it would serve content that caters the needs of the younger crowd. It will work similar to the ToonsTv app but it would have exclusive access to some content that Rovio Animation puts in.

One such content is Fun Game Coding and it is a program to encourage kids to learn to code and help them to master in it. The 12 episode show would specifically focus on how to create various gaming elements by the guidance of professional developers.

It is important to note that the new ToonsTv app would be available in Samsung Galaxy Apps store and are designed to play in small and stable Samsung devices. The devices that are supporting the ToonsTv app are Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy Tab A, Galaxy Tab E and Galaxy Tab S2.

Other devices including the older ones, using updated OS and apps may able to use the ToonsTv app if the ROM has Galaxy app store in it. Though Rovio has not commented on the compatibility of the ToonsTv app in future Samsung devices, it is highly likely that those devices would be enabled considering the exclusive partnership the firm made with Samsung on it.

Interestingly, the current ToonsTv app in Google Play is claimed to have 30 channels and altogether 600 videos. Since the app launched in 2013, it claimed to have garnered 6 billion views. The new exclusive venture is expected to increase the flattening profits of Rovio.
