In the "Criminal Minds" Episode 6 of Season 12 entitled "The Anti-Terrorism Squad," the BAU left for Minnesota to investigate a crime involving a family in the small town. The team of intelligent profilers seems to have moved on without Scotch, his former team leader that was fired due to instances of violent streaks. (Spoiler ahead! Details of "Criminal Minds" episodes 5 & 6 season 12 below.)

"Criminal Minds" Episode 6 Season 12 "The Anti-Terrorism Squad" Recap

The BAU headed to Minnesota to investigate a murder involving a family with one sole survivor - a teenager. The "Criminal Minds" profilers ruled out the involvement of Bridget's lover with a history of violence, and the daughter who was the beneficiary of a modest $100,000 insurance policy. The Unsub had another murder streak, leaving one teenage survivor as well. The BAU profilers investigated the scene and speculated that the Unsub wanted to hurt the survivors, and killed not out of compassion but to make them feel the pain of losing a family.

The "Criminal Minds" profilers then looked for a Male in their late 20's or early 30's who had a history of bullying. They brought in Eric who had a history of bullying complaints but was let go because he didn't have the rage to commit such a heinous crime. The Unsub killed again, and this time, it was an overkill. This is when they realized that the Unsub was being bullied. The "Criminal Minds" BAU unit then figured out that the Unsub matched the profile that would belong to a bullying support group in school called "Anti-Terror Squad." But, they found out too late. Kyle, the Unsub, had already taken three of his friends for betraying him as he claims he killed the families to avenge the survivors. When Prentiss talked to the Unsub, telling him that he wouldn't want to hurt his friends and that he should know what it feels like to be bullied. After that, Kyle surrendered.
