The harnessing of power and energy from the wastes of humans and animals is at hand. Scientists and researchers had made it possible to collect human and animal waste and convert these unwantables into sources of energy and fuel.

Via anaerobic digesters and systematic sewage treatment plants, Renewable energy and biofuels could be harnessed from human and animal waste and used for electricity and fuel for transportation.

In Singapore, Students and scientists at Nanyang University have designed a poop collection system that will summarily suck the poop from the toilet bowls in homes. Instead of using flushing water to flush poop down the drain, the scientists designed to use vacuum in sucking the poop to their reservoir. They call it the no mix poop collector. It saved the system 90% of water thereby gathering solid and liquid wastes separately. Fertilizer is what becomes of the liquid waste, while the solids are sent to a bioreactor where electricity is generated in the process, according to inhabitat

The tedious method of extracting energy from solid sludge used to take a long time. Scientists at the South Korean Research Institute of Science and Technology shortened the process of extracting lipids by exposing the solid sludge to heat. The lipids could then be transformed to bio diesel. Its process is cheaper compared to that of converting vegetable oils to biofuels.

Biofuels are a great source of energy. A poop Bus in the UK is running on extracted Human waste. Its 186 mile route is fueled by a tank of compressed gas from human poop. The compressed gas in the tank is equivalent to a year of poop of five people. The emission is 30% less of Carbon Dioxide and goes to a process of removing the stink of human poop stated in an article in alternet.

The future of our planet needs this type of energy with lesser CO2 emissions and abundant in supply. Now we know how powerful poop is.
