It is reported that the next update from Windows 10 would include a major feature and that is a "virtual touchpad" is activated on the screen to make it more device friendly. The creators' update for the OS showed that it has many more features including a Windows 10 virtual touchpad added to the update and this update is currently scheduled for customer release on March. The test version named Windows 10 (14965) has been released to Microsoft insiders on Nov. 9.

The new Windows 10 virtual touchpad would be added to the taskbar and upon clicking user would be able to launch it on the screen for the use. It can provide the mouse control, right-click and left-click options smoothly. But the expectation of Microsoft about Windows 10 virtual touchpad is quite different and it sees people controlling external monitors with the help of a tablet, without the mouse.

"The use of Windows 10 virtual touchpad is quite similar to a physical touchpad that would enable the users to control screen," Dona Sarkar from Microsoft explained. It is reported that the other features that revealed are some sticky notes updates, improved Microsoft Ink functionality, "Insights" in more languages, address bar being added in registry editor etc.

Microsoft further said that Windows 10 virtual touchpad is highly useful for tablet users as they can move content to a second display from the tablet. It can easily be connected to a monitor, TV or PC and the "Project" Quick Action of the Action Center would enable the users to extend the screen to the second display. Then, by enabling Windows 10 virtual touchpad users would be able to control the screen.

Windows 10 virtual touchpad is not found to be a useful feature in PCs, but as intended it might be an added functionality to tablet users. Users can easily work by setting the second screen using tablets, play the games easily in large screen etc, after the update. But considering the fact that the number of Tablet users are coming down day-by-day, Windows 10 virtual touchpad would not have too many fans.
