The Japanese metal band BABYMETAL was confirmed to have landed their own anime series. BABYMETAL performed on a sold out show at SSE Arean, Wembley in London earlier this spring.

BABYMETAL who recently concluded their 2016 world tour, announced via its official Facebook page and a press release from Warner Bros., stating that their new animated adventure will be brought to our screens thanks to the minds at Warner Bros.' digital studio Blue Ribbon Content and Amuse USA. BABYMETAL's manager and founder Key Kobayashi (also known as KOBAMETAL) is set to produce.

BABYMETAL formation will be explained in the anime series. In the series, the world of heavy metal finds itself under attack. The god Kitsune decides to form the warrior band BABYMETAL in order to help save the world and the musical genre. The short form series will be a combination of live-action musical performances and animation, with the girls traveling to the animated world in order to redefine the metal genre in order to save it.

BABYMETAL is insanely popular in both Japan and the US, with their music topping iTunes charts and garnering an appearance on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert." The band consists of three teenage girls, Suzuka Nakamoto, Yui Mizuno, and Moa Kikuchi, who go by the names SU-METAL, YUIMETAL, and MOAMETAL. They are a combination of pop idol sensibilities, with fresh-faced cute looks and outfits, paired with surprisingly well-written metal music in their over the top performances.

The trio has made great strides in the pop metal scene in only five years since their formation. No release date has been announced yet, so stay tuned for more info.
