Pokemon's company, Nintendo, surprised the world when they announced a brand new installment in the series, Pokemon Sun and Moon. Taking place in a new region, the game offers a lot of brand new Pokemon and new features. It also comes with a lot of pre-order bonuses if fans placed their orders before its release. The hype escalated further because Pokemon celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

According to Nintendo, the recently released demo for Pokemon Sun and Moon has garnered millions of download on its first day back on October 18. A side by side comparison with Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire has been made for how much of the game has been pre-ordered months away from the actual release date. You can see the report here.

The demo for Sun and Moon has gathered 3.5 Million downloads within the first week of its release. It's expected since the reception for the game went exceptionally well because of the features that are already featured in the news. Even more so when it was revealed that the demo encourages repeat plays to unlock new items and new events prior to the actual game. These items can also be carried over, along with the player's starter Pokemon: Ash-Greninja once the full game is out.

The hype for Pokemon Sun and Moon also affected the sales of the 3DS Units. As of June this year, more than 60 million of 3ds units have been sold. And because of the Pokemon hype for Sun & Moon, Nintendo released a 3DS Version, highlighting the series' respective Legendaries, Solgaleo for Sun and Lunala for Moon.

Pokemon Sun & Moon is slated for release on November 18, 2016, for 3DS for North America and in Europe for November 23, 2016.
