Everyday there are more than 100 tons of material from asteroids and comets falls toward Earth but "what will really happen if asteroids hit the grounds?"

Dr. Igor Ashurbeyli, the founding father of Asgardia gives warning about an asteroid that can fall to earth without warning that can destroy cities and kill more than one million people due to the fact that our current asteroid warning systems are not enough.

This revelation was made during the conference in Paris as Dr. Ashurbeyli announced the creation of Asgardia as first nation in space and plans for a new asteroid system to protect the Earth.

Dr Ashurbeyli said: "The fact is, there is no protection. Protection is none existent and is only at a theoretical level.

"We need to keep in mind an asteroid of around 50 meters is capable of destroying a city with more one million people, and an asteroid of 1.5 kilometers could be destroyed,

"Look at the last major asteroid, the one which fell near Chelyabinsk, it could have easily been destroyed by an anti-missile defense system.

"However, no one on the whole planet saw it approaching."

He added we know the current warning systems are not good enough because these near-miss asteroid strikes have "actually happened" and we no examples "spotting one in time and being capable of destroying it".

What does History Record Shows?

According to Wikipedia, History record shows hundreds of reported Earth impacts with some occurrences causing deaths, injuries, property damage and others. One of the best-known recorded impacts in modern times was the Tunguska event, which occurred in Siberia, Russia, in 1908. The 2013 Chelyabinsk meteor event is the only known such incident in modern times to result in a large number of injuries, excluding the 1490 Ch'ing-yang event in China, and the Chelyabinsk meteor is the largest recorded object to have encountered the Earth since the Tunguska event.

Last month panic strike in Australia as a meteor struck the coast of Queensland triggering an earthquake and a huge explosion.

These earth events should serve as a wake-up call to mankind that we need to do something as NASA currently have a masterplan to lasso a "hazardous" asteroid and drug it back to Earth.
