Mortal Kombat XL just released a huge patch for PC players on October 4. The free 23GB download comes with balance changes, performance fixes, and a new netcode for multiplayer, as reported by Kotaku. PC players will also be able to get the Medieval Skin Pack and the Pit Environment for free.

PC players were disappointed with the release of Mortal Kombal XL earlier this year it seemed that WB and NetherRealm had forgotten about the PC version in favor of the console one. Eventually, updates stopped coming for the PC version.

However, beta-testing for the PC version of Moral Kombat XL as well as updates to fix it started in late-August this year. With this patch, hopefully PC players will get interested in the game again.

Hardcore Gamer also reports that those who already have Mortal Kombat X can pick up Kombat Pack 2, which adds new characters to the roster. These characters are Xenomorph, Leatherface, Triborg, and Bo' Rai Cho. Those who get XL will also be able to get the content of Kombat Pack 1, which are Goro, Predator, Jason Voorhees, Tremor, and Tanya.

According to GameNGuide, creative director Ed Boon also tweeted about what to expect with the patch. One example is that Bo Rai Cho's staff can be spinned to cancel off enemy projectiles. Other character changes are that Shinnok will be able to dash cancel out of his Judgment Fist and Smash moves, and many more.

Both strong and weak characters were put along the same level as middle-tier characters. All of this was in an effort to make the game more balanced and fun to play. There are also some systems which will be adjusted by the patch, such as running, wake-up attacks, armor and air attacks.

Mortal Kombat XL and Kombat Pack 2 can be bought on Steam.
