Netflix's adaptation of Lemony Snicket's novel "A Series of Unfortunate Events" is set to air next year and they chose quite a memorable date for it - Friday the 13th, January 2017. The network just released an intriguing trailer for the show.

"Do not watch the show!"

The teaser trailer for the Netflix's "A Series of Unfortunate Events" encourages the audience not to watch the show and to "look away." It starts with Lemony Snicket (Patrick Warburton) entering a dark room rendering a monologue. He went on explaining that the room he's in belongs to Netflix who he referred to as the "company responsible for filming the 'A Series of Unfortunate Events.'

The introduction and the whole trailer is quite confusing and intriguing for some because it is not like any other trailer. For one, it doesn't reveal much about the series except that it is creepy and mysterious.

Lemony Snicket (Warburton) continues on to explain why the set for the series if not that lively - no directors, no cast and crews, and no set designers. Snicket said that it is because the story of Baudelaire orphans is quite depressing. He added, "It is so upsetting and so utterly unnerving that the entire crew is suffering from low morale." As it happens, "low morale" in the set "A Series of Unfortunate Events" means "currently under medical observation for melancholia, ennui, and acute wistfulness" A.V. Club reported.

He then pleads the audience to not make the same mistake as Netflix and to "look away" and to "avoid the cruel and whimsy and whimsical cruelty of what's to come." Then the room gets dark again.

Netflix's "A Series of Unfortunate Events" is based on the thirteen novels by Lemony Snicket. NZ Herald reported that it sold 60 million copies worldwide. It follows the adventures and misadventures of the Baudelaire orphans as they try to elude their relative Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris).
