What started off disastrously with a widely disliked trailer, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is poised to come back by releasing its multiplayer beta this October 14, Friday, at 10 PM, according to iTechPost.

Depending on your console, you may get access to the public beta quicker. For PS4 users, it's as stated above at October 14. For Xbox One users, though, it'll come a full week after.

Inquisitr expounds on the pros and cons of a public over a closed beta. Perhaps to save face from recent public dislike, CoD is going for public due to their need for player feedback. It's less rigorous in terms of methodology, but more open and user-friendly.

That said, you can only be eligible for beta testing if you've already pre-ordered the game. This will be a downer for those who usually use the beta to gauge whether they'll buy or not. However, it'll also be a good incentive for long-time followers of the game series.

Beyond the usual networking and server testing results that the beta provides, Activision is going one step further by actually giving a pretty good glimpse of the gameplay.

Customization seems to be highlight of this new installment of Call of Duty. You can choose the weapons from a decent arsenal, and tailor it to suit your preferred gameplay. Personally speaking, they also have cool names: Warfighter, Merc, FTL, Stryker, Phantom and Synaptic.

The single player campaign is also looking up what with two ex-Naughty Dog devs coming over and sprucing up the storyline, according to Metro. For a hint of the style, The Last of Us was one of more well-known creations from them.

Also, what's a CoD game without zombies? Here you are just having fun in the amusement park when zombies! Or maybe that's why you were there in the first place? Regardless, this has been a staple in the franchise, and it's almost a game in its own right. Here's a little something to whet that appetite for some zombie killing.
