Don't lose hope, Hunter x Hunter fans! Despite persistent rumours that Chapter 361 will be cancelled, reports say that these rumors are false. In the meantime, fans will have to content themselves with it's spinoff mobile game, Hunter x Hunter: World Hunt.

News of the new game was first reported in the 42nd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, according to ITech Post. The game will be released by Bandai Namco, will be free to play, and will be available for android and iOS.

Players can create a guild of up to 13 characters who can fight simultaneously in real time. Players will also have to answer a short quiz and do a water divination to find out their Nen type.

It's been short ups with long downs lately, with Hunter X Hunter. Fans will recall the recent 80-issue hiatus from 2014 to early this year. There's even a graph for it. And, once again, so soon after a couple of releases, the manga will be on hiatus. With Yoshihiro Togashi's lower back problems, the status of the updates are once again up in the air.

There were even rumours that Togashi was to be replaced by new authors. However, as Togashi did not like any of the ideas they pitched, the release of Chapter 361 has been pushed to next year.

As we've reported earlier, Togashi experiences severe lower back pain due to a birth defect called Spina Bifida. This means there is an incomplete closing of his spine and membranes.

The popular franchise has been on going since 1998, and has gathered followings from all over the world. It's inspired an anime show, as well as several OVAs.

It looks like fans will have to content themselves for now with the new mobile game. Here's hoping it can last them until next year.
