Kpop News: Singer Minzy To Start Solo Activities
Following Minzy's departure from the one of the popular girl group 2NE1, she is now on the verge of preparing carefully for her solo career.
On July 7, sources say that singer Minzy is setting to hold a solo fan meeting in late-July or early-August to meet her fans.
Minzy's label confirmed the fan meeting and is now holding meetings with regards to its location and details for the event.
Music Works stated, "Minzy will show her talents in songwriting and composing through her solo activities."
One source stated, "Minzy will spend special time with her fans who have given her unchanging love despite her leaving 2NE1. It won't be a big audience, but she will prepare meaningful performances and have a truthful time with her fans."
Previously in May she was announced to have signed an exclusive contract with Music Works, an agency that also the home of the well-known artists Baek Ji Young, Yoo Sung Eun, and Song Yoo Bin. Minzy had previously been under contract with YG Entertainment for seven years after deciding to part ways with the label.
According to a Music Works representative, Minzy is currently working to choose her first solo album concept. She has not decided any date for her solo debut and is preparing to find a style that fits her perfectly.
"She is surrounded by lots of music from different producers and working hard to find songs with her own color," the representative said. "She is not discriminating between any dance or ballad genres. She is taking slow but steady steps towards her new career."
Minzy is currently studying at Baekseok University as a Junior student. Way back 2014, she revealed in an interview for her school newspaper that she always has the desire to pursue her studies, the artist stated, "I want to become a pastor, who can help children connect to Christian life." and now she is in her third year.
Minzy is expected to make her comeback in the second half of 2016. She is taking her time to choose songs that best work for her.
