NCIS is gearing up for the 14th season, which will soon be aired later this year. And keeping in mind Michael Weatherly's permanent exit from the show, speculations regarding the approaching storylines are heating up.

The spectacle took a definite turn when the season finale "Famiy First" left Tony DiNozzo in awe and astonishment as he came across his daughter, Tali, he thought never existed. Pairing up a romantic chapter with Ziva David, played by Cote de Pablo, Weatherly's nescience left him in a blow as an awkward encounter with his daughter set the seal of the season's finale.

Despite of the erratic happenings within the show, the thriller based series is bound to be reset as claimed Gary Glasberg. The introduction of a new character Tali will definitely be a head turner and will be able to join all the missing pieces of the puzzle which were left unattended previously, also highlighting the whereabouts of her father.

"NCIS" showrunner Gary Glasberg said that he is "super eager to reset, to move on and move forward ... and get back to the lightness and the mystery that NCIS is known for."

NCIS will return later this fall on the CBS. FBI agent Tess Monroe (Sarah Clarke) and MI-6 agent Clayton Reeves (Duane Henry) will be highlighted as the potential new members of the squad, who will take on a permanent role in the approaching episodes.

Keeping in view the list of the existing characters, one thing is for sure and that is the absence of Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David from the series for a long term. The absence of the essential characters has definitely allowed the audience to keep their fingers crossed and predict where the storyline will head to.

As far as Ziva David is concerned, the fate of tally's mother has not yet been revealed and whether she is still alive or dead, only time will tell.

The premiere date of NCIS has not yet been publicly declared yet.
