Jeremy Lin has just declined Charlotte Hornets' $2.2M player option for the 2016-17 season and decides to go forward as free agent when NBA goes offseason this summer.

The free agency season kicks off on July 1 when many NBA veterans will be searching for greener pastures ahead of the start of the new regular season. While Lin may not be a priority for many teams in the league, his breakout season with Charlotte is drumming up considerable interest across NBA.

Following a disappointing stint with Houston Rockets and LA Lakers, Lin has bounced back in better form with consistent play in the 2015-16 regular season. The 'Linsanity' has posted an average of 11.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3 assists in 26.3 minutes, Sports Rageous reported.

With his good season performance with Charlotte, Lin should come off with better contract offers in the free agency market. Charlotte's salary cap would prevent the team to match bigger counter-offers for the 'Linsanity' shooting guard. But which team would Jeremy Lin end up with?

"You can trust Lin with the ball. Defensively, he has physical limitations, but he also will dig down and disrupt handles and passing lanes. He plays well in a team concept and by all accounts is coachable. Lin is terrific value in this market and the second-best backup point guard available. If you wind up with Lin starting, your offense is going to survive," analyzed Matt Moore of CBS Sports adding that he's good fit with Charlotte, New York, Dallas, Chicago, New Orleans, and Philadelphia. However, Knicks is likely to think twice of getting Lin into the fold as mentioned in our previous report.

After his Broadway breakout moment with Knicks, Lin has seen his talent decline ending up with a $4.4-million contract with the Hornets of July last year. But his Charlotte 2015-16 season may be his time of redemption.
