The viewers saw that Red underwent a series of mixed emotions in the season 3 finale. While he was relieved to see that Liz was alive, he also felt betrayed that Liz and Kate Kaplan kept their plan from him. Things became more complicated when they arrived where they expected to see Liz and only found that the place is in ramshackle, as if it had been attacked.

When James Spader was asked about Liz and Red's relationship in season 4 of "The Blacklist," he said that there may be reconciliation in the offing as Red's character understands why Liz did what she did. "Listen, Liz has pushed Red away many times before and he's always waited patiently in the wings. So despite the fact that she's gone to extreme lengths to get away from him, I don't think he'll be changing," Spader said. He also added, "I think he would have an understanding for what led to this," he explained.

Meanwhile, it has been officially announced that "The Blacklist" will have a spinoff, "The Blacklist: Redemption." According to news reports, while the main series is structured around Liz and Red, the spinoff will be about Tom Keen and his mother, Scottie. He will also be a part of "The Blacklist," now that he will be playing a central role in the spinoff.

The "Blacklist" Season 4 is expected to return in September.
