Yaya Toure has probably been Manchester City's ost influential player of the past five trophy laden years but it has been widely speculated over the past few months that the Ivorian was on his way out of the club due to waning powers and also because of the fact that he felt that he would not get the right opportunities under incoming manager Pep Guardiola. According to the latest reports published by theManchester Evening News the player has decided not to quit his position at Manchester City and in fact stay back and prove to the new manager that he can still be the one of the best central midfielders in the game who can turn a match on its head within a matter of minutes.

Toure, who is now 33 years old, is no longer as mobile as he used to be two years back and his ability to dictate games as in the past is one the wane which is why a move out of Manchester City has been on the cards for some time. According to many reports, he was slated to go to the Chinese league and become one of the highest paid players in the world, while on the other hand, there were reports suggesting that the player was on his way to Inter Milan in order to reunite with former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini. However, it seems the huge wages in China or the reduced wages in Italy have not proved to ba appealing enough for Yaya Toure and it seems he is now willing to stay back at City, in order to regain his position as the midfield general at the Etihad Stadium in 2016-17.

Yaya Toure has already played under Pep Guardiola when he was at the Cataland club before joining Manchester City in 2009 but according to those in the know, the pair share an excellent relationship and Toure would definitely welcome the opportunity to work with the former Barcelona manager in 2016-17.
