According to recent reports, Microsoft was to be unveiled in June. However, other reports indicate that the much awaited hybrid-laptop will launch in October. But at the same time, there are also other reports that peg Surface Pro 5's release in the first quarter of 2017, along with Windows 10 update.

Rumor has it that the new update, called Redstone, will be featured in the upcoming Microsoft Pro 5 as its inbuilt operating system. It is quite possible for the new device to be powered by the latest OS by Microsoft.

There have been speculations suggesting that Microsoft Pro 5 will have fine quality 4K Ultra HD display, featuring 3840 x 2160 screen resolution. Microsoft is also in the process of building a rechargeable Surface Pen so that it can replace the one that is powered by AAAA cells. The new Microsoft Surface Pro will come equipped with a magnetic dock that will be able to charge the Surface Pen.

Besides, since Microsoft's new smartphones are now equipped with USB Type-C port, it is possible that the upcoming Surface Pro too will be compatible with Type-C port.

Even though the official price of the latest Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is yet to be disclosed, it is safe to assume that it will be priced at $900 for the base model.
