Apparently, the campaign for "Independence Day: Resurgence" is not just about promoting the film but also an advertisement for "young geeks and gamers" would could be lured into joining the Earth Space Defense, "a fictional, one-world, anti-alien military."

For that purpose, United States Army decided to pair up with "Independence Day: Resurgence" to develop viral content as well as website for recruiting Earth Space Defense apprentices. In the video, one can see prominent text, "Defend Tomorrow. Enlist Today. Join the ESD" at the top. If the viewer clicks that link, the website is redirected to GoArmy.com allowing users to have a look into not only "Independence Day: Resurgence" content but also get more information about career options in the US Army.

It was noticed by Jonathan McIntosh, a Twitter user, that the "Independence Day: Resurgence" movie website is hosted by GoArmy.com. He adds that it is "because it's really a recruiting tool for the US Military."

Even in the movie trailer one can hear a demanding narration, evoking urgency amongst people of the Earth to fight the aliens if and when they attack their planet. The trailer was a well thought out campaign urging the youth to enlist in the US Army, while promoting the movie alongside. The movie will be released on June 24 and directed by the original "independence day" film, Roland Emmerich. The movie stars Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Jessie Usher and Vivica A.
