Android fans wait every year for what android loyalists term the "annual keynote". This year, things might be different since Google is said to have delayed its support for Android version of Apple's 3D Touch which was widely expected to come in the upcoming Android N version.

According to aunverified report "the feature will not be part of the initial Android N release and will have to wait for a later release of the operating system, most likely as part of a maintenance update to the software." Previously, there were a lot of speculations piling up about the possibility of Google working on Android equivalent of the 3D Touch feature that would allow developers to take advantage of the screens.

3D Touch is one of the key marketing factors for Apple to sell their iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. Essentially a little part of the "Force Touch" technology is also used in Apple Watch which offers the ability to differentiate between types of touches along with taps and perform different functions. This feature has been significantly essential for all other platforms too since it lets users directly jump to certain sections of the app directly from the home screen without additional efforts. Users for example who are using either Twitter/Facebook etc can easily update status or also upload photos and videos and or even take photos and videos for sharing without opening the app thanks to the app's 3D touch facilities on the home screen.

In the Android world there were reasonable and credible reports that HTC which is now being assigned the role to be manufacturing the next Nexus handset will be using a similar technology to 3D Touch sensitive display technology in the 2016 Google flagship device. Presently, there are actually a limited amount of Android devices that make use of pressure-sensitive screens.
