When it became clear that "Winds of Winter" is not coming anytime soon and the sixth season of "Game of Thrones" will outpace the book, fans were a little disappointed.

Well, the sixth season is very much on air and there is still no official news about the release of the book, but there is certainly some positive development as author George R.R. Martin has released a chapter from the sixth installment of "A Song of Ice and Fire" i.e. "Winds of Winter" on his site. And from the content of the chapter, it is clear that Martin will take a very different route in the upcoming book from the one that the show creators have taken.

The book lovers, who have read all the five installments, will definitely find it interesting and rhythmic but the show viewers would find it completely out-of-sync. And no, there are no spoilers either that you can hope to unearth. Reason: the chapter has characters that do not exist on the show and a few that do have died. Arianne Martell serves as the point of view character for the chapter. Wondering who she is?

As a viewer, you cannot relate because she does not exist in the show. She is the daughter of Doran Martell, who died in the first episode of season six. Other characters named Jon Connington and Aegon also feature in the chapter and Arianne is looking for the former in order to accomplish a mission for her father.

She is accompanied by Elia Sand, daughter of Ellaria Sand, who has been heard of on the show. She has sworn allegiance to her cousin as they explore the Stormlands, home to House Baratheon. The chapter aims to bring Arianne and her father Dorne into the game to seek the iron throne. In stark contrast, the show has killed him and the mission has been usurped by his brother's cruel wife Ellaria Sand.

So, it can be said that the chapter makes sense only to book followers and show lovers might not find it interesting enough.
