Barcelona possess the most entralling, skilful and effective forward line in the world in the form of the Messi-Neymar Junior-Suarez trident and anyone would be forgiven if he or she thinks that the team does not anymore forwards. However, a team of the size of Barcelona always looks for more depth in the squad so that the team can continue to be effective even if one of three giants are absent due to injuries or any other issues. In order to bolster their attacking reserves, the club are now in the lookout for a striker who could be an understudy to the celebrated front 3 and it seems that, in a surprising move, Barcelona are tryng to bring Newcastle United's Spanish striker Ayoze Perez to the Camp Nou.

Newcastle United might be fighting to stay in the English Premier League following a woeful season but Perez has been one of their shining lights this season and has netted 13 times for the Magpies in 2015-16. Perez joined Newcastle United in 2014 from Spanish club Tenerife for only £1.5 million and ha proven to be an astute investment, however Barcelona are willing to make an offer that would certainly test Newcastle owner Mike Ashley's resolve. There have been rumours that the player has even travelled to Barcelona in order to thrash out the personal terms if a move does go through in the summer and one can expect a bid from Barcelona soon.

One thing that would certainly be a cause for concern for Perez is the fact that if he does in fact choose to move to Barcelona, without doubt one of the most high profile clubs in the world then he would have to live with substantially reduced playing time since he will be called upon only if the main men are unavailable. On the other hand, playing time is not an issue for him at Newcastle and he remains one of the club's most influential. However, if Newcastle United are relegated then the whole thing will become far easier for Barcelona.
