Miami crushed Charlotte Hornets to secure their bid for the semifinals and possibly the championship title. Now that the Hornets were booted out of the first round playoffs, NBA rumors churning out in rumor land suggest Lin's departure from the franchise to join the Chicago Bulls.

As per Sports Rageous, the 'Linsanity' player had inked a contract with the team for a two-year deal worth nearly $4.4 million before the 2015-16 season with a player option for the next season. This could mean a possible entry into the free agency market to search for greener pastures like the Chicago Bulls or choose a long-term stay with the franchise.

With his style and gameplay, Lin is could a valuable contributor to Frank Hoiberg's fast paced offense strategy on the court. Lin and Jimmy Butler could also form a strong offensive duo if both of them were on the roster.

"A Jeremy Lin-Jimmy Butler combo has a lot of potential. Also, it is unlikely Lin would have an ego clash with Butler. Lin would flourish with "Hoiball," the fast paced offense run by Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg. Signing Lin at a reasonable price will also give them enough cap room to sign another significant free agent," wrote Malcolm Hyde of Yibada.

While free agency offers look tempting, Lin indicated he'd rather stay than leave the team he'd grown to love so much. In the last six seasons he played, he had so much fun and learned quite a lot of things in his six-year journey.

"I would love to. I don't like moving every year, I don't like packing and unpacking boxes. So we'll see. But I'm definitely interested in coming back," said Lin as quoted by Charlotte Observer.

"This is the most fun I've had in my six years. Being around a great group of guys and a coaching staff that really cares. I've learned so much about the game of basketball, particularly at the defensive end."

So far, there is no strong indication of Lin packing up his bags to join another team. Besides, the 'Linsanity' star is a cool guy who plays hard but doesn't demand a higher paycheck as other star players in the league would have.
