Justin Bieber may be a star, but he isn't a favourite of animal lovers. In 2013, he brought his pet monkey Mally to Germany but did not even complete the paperwork for it. And then he just abandoned her! Recently, he posed with a Bengal tiger, which is not going down well with the public.

It was on Saturday that the pop superstar had a huge bash to celebrate his 41-year-old father Jeremy's engagement to his longtime heartthrob, Chelsey Rebelo, 28. They celebrated together at a private engagement party/art event in Toronto.

There were some strange scenes---while superheroes strutted in costumes, there was a performance by the Canadian opera singer Meghan Lindsay. Meanwhile, people sat in the Batmobile, while there was a tiger on a leash that could be petted.

The 22-year-old struck numerous poses with the tiger, some of which he put up on Instagram. People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) were furious about his actions, though.

PETA wrote on its website that the animals used in the party have been taken from Bowmanville Zoo, which was charged with five counts of beastly cruelty. One video had been shown the owner Michael Hackenberger whipping a Siberian tiger. It charged that animals are given sedatives "so that they're docile during events and parties" like Justin Bieber's bash.

"Tigers used in this way are denied everything that they need to be happy, and we can only imagine that the tiger Justin posed with has experienced a life of misery," PETA stated. "Justin and other guests are lucky that they weren't attacked by the wild animals. In similar situations, animals have been known to lash out because of the stress of their miserable lives.

"We're calling on Justin and his family never to use animals as selfie props or party entertainment again," PETA concluded.

Various animals have been used in many movies, and the tiger seen with Bieber is believed to be Robbie, featured in "The Interview."

"Each tiger's stripes are unique, and Robbie even has several additional unique characteristics that match up with the Bieber tiger: pigmentation on the nose, a tear-drop shape above one of his eyes and identical bald patches on the nose," PETA said. "We know he [Bieber] is drawn to animals, but this is the very worst way to recognize this interest because exotic animals are usually torn away from their mothers prematurely, beaten into submission by trainers, are often doped up to be docile and are deprived of everything that's natural and important to them."

Bieber has not given any answer to PETA.
