Hallyu Star Song Hye Kyo's agency UAA filed legal complaints to the jewelry brand J.Estina due to misuse and claiming of the actress's image through distributing it as their advertisement without consent, though the contract already ended in January.

The jewelry brand 'J.Estina' has distributed images and videos of the actress from her recent drama "Descendants of the Sun" though they did not make any request of permission to the actress's rights.

J'Estina is said that they formerly drew a contract for product replacement to the production team of "Descendants of the Sun". J.Estina also commented that they did not violate any rights since they did not take any advertisement footage themselves, also, Song Hye Kyo was seen wearing 'J.Estina' brand-wear as a part of product placement for 'Descendants of the Sun' throughout the drama.

But 'Descendants of the Sun' has asserted to J.estina, stating, "In the case that the brand decides to use images and video clips of the actress outside of the drama, they should request permission from the actress." (allkpop)

UAA also stated that they did not file the lawsuit for the mere fact of getting the compensation but if ever they'll receive it, the actress will be donating the money.

Song Hye Kyo's agency further explains the reason for donating the money,

"It's a common occurrence for big companies to steal designs of small businesses. New designers in Korea have their morale crushed due to unfair actions by big companies. They lose their dreams and their jobs as well. Song Hye Kyo plans to return the full amount of the compensation from the lawsuit with J company [J.ESTINA] to new designers (or design schools and other institutions), in order that we may support them to continue their dreams as designers."
