Several media outlets have reported that New York Knicks Carmelo Anthony is considering waiving his no-trade clause. However, according to Anthony, these published reports are all false.

"Come on, man. After all the work I did to get here and get back here? If I was to get up and want to leave now that would just make me weak, make me have a weak mind," Anthony said Friday morning. "I've never been a person to try to run from any adversity or anything like that so I'm not going to pick today to do that."

Anthony's agent, Leon Rose, has also dispelled these reports. He texted this message via ESPNNewYork.com: "Carmelo, as always, is committed to the Knicks. There have never been discussions about trades or wanting to leave New York. Any story, rumor, report to the contrary is utter nonsense."

Prior to the start of the season, Anthony re-signed with the Knicks as a free agent. He agreed to a five-year contract worth $124 million. The deal included a no-trade clause. The New York Post reported early today that Anthony would consider waiving that clause if he gets a deal with a team that he would want to play for.

"He thought things would be better than this, but he still wants to stick it out for now, '' a source said. "He trusts Phil, but I think he's afraid of Phil.''

Marc Berman, with the Post, wrote: "For now, Anthony has no desire to be traded, but his willingness to consider giving up the no-trade clause shows how frustrated he has become with the Knicks' historically bad start to the season."

Since the start of the season, the Knicks have been struggling with a 4-20 record. Earlier this week, reports stated that Anthony became frustrated with teammate Tim Hardaway Jr. Anthony reportedly threatened to beat up Hardaway. However, no fights happened and the rift has since been resolved.

The Knicks will take on the Boston Celtics on Friday. Anthony's availability is currently unclear due to a sore left knee.
