Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos is perhaps the most influential and powerful man at one of the biggest clubs in the world for his status of being their captain and when he speak people listen. He was spaking to the Spanish outlet COPE and during the course of that extended interview, the Real Madrid captain stated that he would like his club to sign Manchester United's Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea in the summer so that the goalkeeping position is shored up with one of the best goalkeepers in the world when the next season rolls in.

During that particluare interviews, he told the news outlet, "To speak about players who are not here would be a lack of respect for my teammates - Keylor [Navas], Kiko Casilla, Ruben the third keeper - but I have always said the best players should be here, and if the people at the top consider that he must come, for me De Gea is one of the best." Right from the time that Iker Cassilas, the former Real Madrid and Spain great was ushered out of the Santiago Bernbau stadium, the Los Blancos have been after the David De Gea, supposedly the next great Spanish goalkeeping great and it is interesting to note that he has put his weight behind the argument.

Now one thing that needs to be stated is the fact that David De Gea has expressed his own ambition of moving to Real Madrid at some point in the future and in fact a transfer to the Spanish capital was all but sewn up last year during the summer transfer window but a technical snag halted the transfer from taking place on transfer deadline day. It is expected that Real Madrid are going to come back with a fresh bid in the summer and althoug David De Gea has signed a new deal with Manchester United, it is expected that new tussle regarding the future of the goalkeeper might commence again. In addition to all the other revelations in the interview, Ramos stated that Manchester United had indeed made a serious bid for him back in 2015 and he was interested in moving before the issues with Real Madrid were solved before the whole thing could snowball into something bigger.
