'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' show contender Amber Marchese's husband Jim Marchese spent much of his time in the dog house, trying to stay out of trouble. However, he was arrested on Wednesday, 20 April due to an allegedly violent incident involving his wife Amber Marchese.

TMZ reports, Jim and Amber boarded a red-eye flight from Los Angeles early Wednesday. Before the flight could take off, police were called to the aircraft, where Virgin America staff claim Jim grabbed Amber by the throat and threatened to cause her harm. Los Angeles Police officers took him off the plane and charged him with felony domestic violence.

Amber reportedly showed up at the police area shortly after to bail her husband out of jail. TMZ could capture pictures out of the police station when Jim and Amber left hand-in-hand. Jim commented on the plane incident, suggesting he was considering taking legal action.

"I guess Virgin Atlantic wanted to take care of my kid's scholarship fund," he said.

Before the incident, Amber posted a photo of herself on Instagram prior to boarding the flight. In it, she is seen holding a hand up to her face while sitting before the camera for the black-and-white photo. The caption references her plans to board the red-eye flight and nothing more.

However, Amber and her husband have not spoken about the arrest. Amber announced that she and Jim did not intend to return to "RHONJ" for Season 7 in November 2015.

In a statement released to Us Weekly states she and her husband had given "a lot of thought" to their return and decided it was not in their best interest. She explained that she had spent much of Season 6, and claimed that she was declared a villian.

"Jim and I have been giving 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' a lot of thought and given the current state of affairs regarding our personal lives and the direction of the show, we officially decided to move on," she told Us at the time. "The show was not what we expected it to be, and I want to pursue more endeavors."
