Samsung quietly launched Galaxy J5 (2016) and J7 (2016) in Europe, new reports claim.

The phones were launched in China last month. Speculation that the mid-range device would be launched in other parts of the world soon followed with the release of specifications leaks. The phone is expected to launch in India, Pakistan, Thailand and Vietnam besides the launch in Europe.

Both the phones were reportedly spotted on Samsung's India website but no dates for the launch was announced by the South Korean phone maker. In the recent wave of speculative reports, the Galaxy J7 (2016) was spotted on Samsung's Spain website while J5 (2016) was spotted on Samsung French website.

Interestingly, the Galaxy J7 (2016) featured on the company's Spanish website for $ 338 does not match the specifications of its Chinese counterpart. In China, Samsung launched Galaxy J7 (2016) with Full HD Display and 3GB RAM. However the device on the company's Spanish website specifies the phone as being powered by 2 GB RAM and HD display. The other specifications, including a Snapdragon octa-core, are identical.

This has led to the speculation that the device may not actually be the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016). It could be a revised version of Galaxy J7 from last year, not unlike what is slated for launch in the US, with 2GB RAM.

Specifications of the Galaxy J5 (2016) were not mentioned on Samsung's French website. However, other reports speculating an India launch before the end of this month claimed the phone could be priced between $ 165 and $ 180. If specifications from China launch are any indication, the device could be powered by a quad-core processor, 2 GB RAM featuring HD display.

Samsung J series of phones are the company's efforts to gain ground lost to local manufacturers in the affordable-segment market of countries like India and China, which is massive compared to the relatively small high-end segment.
