Fantasy series Once Upon A Time recently introduced lesbian romance on the show. This is the first time that the show has introduced LGTB romance and aired it for the viewers.

While the fans were expecting to see something between Mulan and Aurora, it was Ruby and Dorothy between whom the sparks finally flew. Ruby's character on the show is being played by Meghan Ory, while Teri Reeves plays the character, Dorothy.

In the last episode titled "Ruby Slippers," Ruby breaks Zelena's sleeping spell on Dorothy. With the help of an advice from her good friend Snow White, Ruby clicks some magical slippers and awakens Dorothy with true love's kiss. The character Snow White is played by Ginnifer Goodwin and Rebecca Mader plays Zelena on this fairy tale themed show.

Mulan, on the other hand, does not take a central role. However, she encourages Ruby's feelings for her friend, Dorothy.

According to report, series creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis have said that true love and kiss has been a staple of this show. And the last episode was just another example of how love is in reality as well as in a fairy tale.

Back in September, last year, Kitsis and Horowitz had promised to include an LGTB storyline in Season 5 of the show. The series creators had expressed their desire to reflect LGBT love and showcase the community's support of the show according to reports. The creators had further stated that they want to showcase a real world on their show, just like it is in reality since thy feel that this is important for their show.

Horowitz had further said that the storyline will be "exciting, emotional and heartfelt as any other love story."
