If there is one footballer who can expect to get a huge pay hike if he does decide to ditch Barcelona and join one of the many clubs who are prepared to pay him a huge salary then that is Neymar Junior. According to latest reports pubished in a range of publications, the Barcelona forward is looking for a pay hike that will be equal to five times his presnt salary and although it is true that the Barcelona hierarchy are tentative about giving him his wish, there is widespread belief that they are most likely to give him his due.

Neymar Junior joined Barclona after a long drawn out struggle with fellow Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid as well as Chelsea and Manchester United and in a world in which English clubs have the financial power to grant his wish, they are trying to do everything possible to make sure that the Brazilian stays back at the Camp Nou when the 2016-17 season comes along. It is believed that Neymar has a release clause of £180 million with Barcelona and during the previous summer transfer window Manchester United had triggered it but the transfer did not happed simply because of the reason that the Brazlian did not feel like going to Barcelona.

However, the situation could be different now if Neymar feels that he is not being provided with a financial package that is commensurate with his contribution towards one of the best attacking teams in the history of football and if the latest offer is not equal to his expectations, then a move to a new club could be on the cards. According to the reports however, the club are willing to offer him the sort of financial package that he and his representatives think is proportional with his stature as one of the top footballers in the world. The five fold salary hike is going to kick in at some point in the 2016-17 season and it is expected to continue for the next few seasons before the new contract situation comes to the fore.
