Scott Eastwood, an American actor and model, who has appeared in the films Flags of Our Fathers, Gran Torino, Invictus, The Forger, Trouble with the Curve and Fury, is joining the cast of the eighth "Fast & Furious" film, "Fast 8."

Eastwood expressed it with excitement on a social media on Monday. He stated the media about his upcoming involvement in the "Fast & Furious" franchise a "dream come true."

"It's hard to put into words how excited I am for the next Fast & Furious," Eastwood wrote. "To me, the series is so much more than just a franchise. It's a legacy. These great actors who have been in it together for so long have become a family. I absolutely can't wait to join it."

The ABC News reported that the 30-year-old actor didn't go into too much detail about his upcoming role in "Fast 8," but he did reveal that he will play "a new character who operates under Kurt Russell."

"Very much looking forward to learning a thing or two from such an original and cool guy," Eastwood said.

Eastwood also paid tribute to Paul Walker, who played Brian O'Conner in the "Fast & Furious" films before his death in 2013. Walker was just 40 years old when he died.

Eastwood explained that Walker was a big influence in his life and that he considered the late actor to be an "older brother" to him.

"Paul was a close friend of mine. We surfed together, travelled together, and he was a huge role model and influencing figure in my life when I was younger," Eastwood said.

"For me to be able to add to the F&F story, Paul's story, and the FAST family is like a dream come true," he continued. "Paul -- I am going to make you proud."

"Fast 8" will be premiered on April 14, 2017.
