It's war between the GOP candidates, with Donald Trump having no regrets about threatening his rival Ted Cruz.

On Tuesday night, Trump had an attention-grabbing tweet. He said that the Texas senator, Ted Cruz, needed to "be careful" or Trump would "spill the beans on your wife."

Immediately, he removed his tweet but then reposted an edited version in a few minutes. However, it was not mollifying, but more aggressive, as this time, he used the dismissive nickname he slams on Cruz, of "Lyin' Ted."

"Lyin' Ted Cruz just used a picture of Melania from a G.Q. shoot in his ad. Be careful, Lyin' Ted, or I will spill the beans on your wife!," he tweeted Tuesday evening, just a few minutes before the Arizona polls closed.

It looks as though Trump is upset about an ad in Utah, using a photo of his wife, Melania, from a photo shoot running in GQ magazine almost ten years ago. It shows her in a nude pose.

The advertisement was not put up by Cruz's campaign. It was a ploy by an outside group called Make America Awesome that did not want Trump to win.

Cruz replied with another tweet, which said: "Pic of your wife not from us. Donald, if you try to attack Heidi, you're more of a coward than I thought. #classless,"

His wife, Heidi Cruz, is a senior executive in Goldman Sachs. She has taken leave from office in order to help her husband in his campaign. She is among the election campaign's "most accomplished fundraisers."

There was no response from Trump's campaigners on his tweet.
