The relentless cyber thieves attacking Sony Pictures seemed to have waged an all out war with the studio. Ironically calling themselves the "Guardians of Peace," the anonymous group of hackers are now targeting Sony employees.

In a new email obtained by Variety, the group said that it planned to eliminate all of Sony Pictures Entertainment.

"Removing Sony Pictures on earth is a very tiny work for our group which is a worldwide organization," the email said.

"Please sign your name to object the false (sic) of the company at the email address below if you don't want to suffer damage. If you don't, not only you but your family will be in danger," demanded the author of the email.

An insider from Sony said that all employee communications are now being monitored by tech experts, according to the New York Post. Sony employees were instructed to switch off their computers and handheld devices after receiving the message.

"We are aware of the situation and are working with law enforcement," a Sony spokesperson said.

The "Guardians of Peace" first launched their attack on November 24, and has since then caused mayhem to the studio. The massive security breach resulted to online leakage of personal information of Sony's employees and listing salaries of top executives. Coincidentally, the email hit the same day the group leaked some top secret Hollywood information - movie losses and profits.

Following the report that the malware used to take down Sony's network was written in Korean, the awkward phrasing of the threatening email increased suspicion of North Korean involvement in the massive hacking of the Japanese-owned studio.

North Korea was reportedly attacking Sony in response to the studio's new movie "The Interview," which is about two American journalists attempting to kill North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un. An unidentified North Korean diplomat denied this allegation.

Law enforcement officials, including the FBI, are investigating the security breach.
