Neither age nor the tepid reception of the fourth series seems to have dampened the spirit of Indian Jones hero Harrison Ford. The 73-year old actor is all set to return to the screen with the fifth installment of the iconic series. Disney has made an official announcement in this regard and like all the previous installments, it will be directed by the prolific Steven Spielberg but George Lucas might be missing from the scene.

Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn said that Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes of cinema and the studio cannot wait to revive him on screen. He also expressed confidence in the duo and said that it is rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role.

The news is truly a delight for the fans of the series, but critics are a little skeptical as the audience had given a mixed response to the fourth series "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull". It released in 2008 and managed to gross an impressive $317.1million at the domestic box office and $786.6 million globally. All the Indiana Jones movies have been remarkable in their own way and together, they have grossed around $2 billion, worldwide.

The cult movie has many followers and it would be interesting to watch the veteran with new actors in the untitled flick, all set to release on 19 July, 2019. More so because rumors were doing the rounds that he will hand over the baton to some new actor, most probably Bradley Cooper, Chris Pratt or Shia LaBeouf who had starred along with him in the fourth series.

As per reports, the remaining cast is still being finalized and the team is very excited to begin another remarkable journey with their amazing archaeologist. Harrison Ford is also gung-ho about the series what with the recent success of Star Wars that catapulted him to the top of the list of highest-grossing actors last year.
