Stan Kroenke, the owner of the Rams, is happy to be going home to Los Angeles.

In his first address at the Forum since the NFL announced that it has approved relocating the Rams to Los Angeles, Kroenke got very emotional talking about the plans that went into bringing his team back to Los Angeles and the future of his team.

"We're happy to be here," Kroenke said. "It's quite a privilege. We're looking forward to moving ahead on this. The fun part for us really starts, coming in here today and being received like this is wonderful. It's been a long road, but we made it."

Earlier this week, NFL owners voted 30-2 in favor of the Rams moving. The team will be starting their 2016 season on the west coast even though Kroenke's proposed $1.86 billion stadium will not be completed until 2019. The stadium will seat up to 80,000 people when expanded.

In the meantime, the Rams would play at the Coliseum.

The vote also gave the San Diego Chargers the option of playing in Los Angeles for the 2017 season. Kroenke stated that they have been negotiating with the Chargers about the move.

"That was part of the approval, and we're immediately engaged with them, talking about what some kind of deal might look like," Kroenke said. "We've offered several iterations of that. So we'll see where that goes."

He added, "It's always better for us to have a second team. The NFL's done the studies and they say two teams in the market's the right solution. So it's always better for us to have the second team.

The return of the Rams, who played in Los Angeles from 1946 to 1994, ends the city's 21-year long drought of not having an NFL team. With the return of the NFL, the mayor of Ingelwood, James Butts, hopes that the city can host more sports events.

Butts stated that he has already asked the NFL to bring the Super Bowl to Ingelwood in 2021.
